What We Built
Actowis designed and built a custom Microsoft Viva Adaptive Card integrated with Power Apps:
- Adaptive SPFx card surfaced directly in Microsoft Teams via Viva Connections
- Displays each employee’s current paid time-off (PTO) balance by leave type
- Leave types covered: PTO, Sick, Holiday, Military, Bereavement, Jury Duty, Voting Leave, Parental Leave, FMLA
- ‘Go to PowerApp’ button links directly to the full leave request form
- Fully integrated with the client’s existing HR data in Power Apps and SharePoint

The Outcome
Employees can now check their leave balances and request time off directly from Microsoft Teams — without logging into a separate HR system. The solution dramatically reduced the volume of leave balance enquiries to the HR team and improved the employee experience.
